Retrofitting hard disk redundancy and data backup

We create hard drive redundancy (RAID) and data backup

RAID stands for “Redundant Array of Independent Disks”, which can be translated as “redundant arrangement of independent hard drives”. In most cases it is nothing more than a backup of your data. You will need this if your hard drive fails. A RAID system basically works like this: There are several hard drives installed in the system. If one hard drive fails, one of the other hard drives takes over immediately. The advantage is that the system in which the RAID system is installed continues to work despite the failure. A RAID system ensures operation without data loss. It is always underestimated how many industrial plants do not have backup systems for the hard drive installed. This means: If the hard drive fails, the machine comes to a standstill and may not be able to be put back into operation.

Increase the reliability of your systems with a RAID retrofit

A RAID retrofit minimizes the risk of system failure in two ways. Firstly, with a RAID system, the machine does not come to a standstill in the event of a hard drive failure, and secondly, all data is backed up at all times. For a long time it was almost impossible to retrofit existing industrial systems to a RAID system. Since such a retrofit has many advantages for different cases, industries and application scenarios, we at retrofit GmbH have taken on exactly this problem. Our retrofit RAID system minimizes the risk of failure and data loss in the systems and can be implemented in many different systems without any major intervention from us.

These RAID constellations can currently be implemented:

  • RAID 0
  • RAID 1
  • RAID 3
  • RAID 5
  • RAID 10

RAID systems can be built according to different logics, which have an impact on data security and the speed of the system. We would be happy to introduce you to the different systems and their advantages during a consultation.

Advantages of a RAID retrofit

In principle, retrofit GmbH does not carry out any interventions in the machine or system during a RAID retrofit. No software changes or installation are necessary either. We would be happy to advise you on our various RAID solutions and how they can be implemented in your individual case. All advantages at a glance:

  • No changes or intervention in the machine/system necessary
  • no software change/installation necessary
  • Hardware solution
  • Machine data is retained 1:1
  • universally retrofittable
  • Increased data security
  • always current backup
  • Reduction risk of production downtime
  • Reduction of machine downtimes
  • cheap solution
